In recent years, I have had to make many difficult decisions regarding Pollyplatt. These have been due to external factors which have had an adverse impact on the school. We cannot pretend otherwise. However, during all of this Pollyplatt has been a Good school that has cared deeply for the children and with high aspirations.
We have shared with Waddingham an excellent executive headteacher, Mrs Hanson-Church, but this has now come to an end. Until summer 2025, we will have a co-headship, which I’m sure will be safe pairs of hands.
What everyone associated with Pollyplatt desires is stability and to be able to look into the future with confidence. I have always firmly believed that we offer a safe environment where every child is valued and all can flourish.
The governors and I were determined that the next step should be to a stable, bright future. As I said in my last letter to parents and carers, we looked carefully at all the options open to us. Joining an academy trust was our preferred option; but which one? We did not wish to lose our identity. We wanted one that was committed to primary schools and in the local area. We wanted values that were aligned to ours. Infinity seemed to tick the boxes. Having met with them on several occasions now, I am more convinced that they will support and develop our school in the way we would want it. After the holiday, members of their staff, all experienced in the field of primary education, will be coming into school to support us. One aspect that is high on the agenda is a permanent appointment of a head of school/executive head teacher. They will work closely with the local authority and us on this.
This is an exciting time for Pollyplatt and I look forward to working with Infinity Academies Trust.

Infinity Academies Trust currently has 13 schools across Lincolnshire. We would work closely with the schools within the network, building particularly strong links with those nearest to us - giving us access to real working partnerships.
Our staff are vitally important to us. If we proceed, staff will go through a full consultation process, and their terms and conditions cannot change if we proceed.
We also believe that this move will give staff access to further development opportunities both with training and opportunities to progress.
Uniforms will stay the same, and lessons will not fundamentally alter. The aim is not to lose all the things that made you choose our school for your child.
We believe our children will access increased enrichment opportunities and benefit from the additional support and training that the Trust will provide for our staff.
Joining Infinity does not mean that we will lose our community links. Infinity encourages and supports Local Governing Bodies. Links with other schools are encouraged and there is a commitment to support local projects, charities and community events.
